Overview

In the fall of 2007, the Hampton school division implemented a School Reform initiative focusing on Rigor, Relevance, and Relationships.

This was done so as to effectively offer our students a different set of skills to achieve the Vision of Hampton City Schools: Hampton City Schools is the first choice for academic and lifelong success for every single student. Our overarching objective for this all-important reform initiative was to provide rigor, relevance and relationships to all students through personalized learning communities.

Goal

The goal of this school reform, known as COMPASS, is to develop and implement a comprehensive reform framework designed to raise all students’ academic performance to levels required for post-secondary education and high quality employment.

In compliance with Federal and State Laws and Regulations, Hampton City Schools does not discriminate on the basis of race,
color,
religion, sex, national origin, age, marital status, or the presence of non-job related medical conditions or handicaps
in the educational programs and activities it operates in its admission policies and its employment practices.
